Do You Know What Spice This Is?

Artisan Food Producer Giveaway…

Refusing To Let Go Of Summer (PHOTOS)

Summer has a tendancy to show up late here in the Pacific Northwest but September is a glorious month with crisp cool mornings and long warm afternoons.  As much as I love September, the only pang of disappointment is that September means that the Winter rains are not far behind.  So before I let go of Summer entirely I wanted to share some “Best Of” farmers’ market pictures from the past few months.  It’s been a busy few months so these photos are from multiple markets in Wyoming, Oregon, California, and – of course - my own backyard here in Washington.  I hope it’s been a great Summer for you and that Fall is equally as glorious.  Happy Friday! Cinnamon – Sweetener of Goods & Destroyer of Ants

Finding New Food Products

Does anyone know what this product is?  It looks like it has chocolate but at the same time looks like a hamburger?  Chocolate hamburgers perhaps?  Though that doesn’t sound like an appetizing combo…

The reason I ask is because I found it in a local Asian food store the other day when I went in to browse and, driven by curiosity, I just had to buy it.

My First Recipe

my first recipeOver the weekend I got an email from my Dad (Happy Father’s Day!) who, when going through some of my Great Aunt’s belongings, found a letter I’d sent her back when I must have been 8 or 9 years old.  Included in the letter was a recipe for French Toast I’d sent along.  I have no recollection of actually sending this or why I was so fascinated with French Toast at the time but kind of fun to see what might have been my first ever recipe.
