Play Santa To Another Small Food Business

Santa hat isolated on whiteIf part of your holiday plan is to ‘share the wealth’ with others*, have you thought about sharing with other small food businesses?  Right now on Kickstarter there are a number of great food business-related projects for whom $10, $25, or $50 could make a big difference in reaching their goals.

One business in particular that I’m loving - not just because they’re a fixture at my local farmers’ markets – is d:floured!, a small gluten-free bakery that is looking to move from the farmers’ market scene to their own brick-and-morter.   They’ve set an ambitious goal for themselves and with a week left are only 24% of the way there so I’m happy to throw in my little contribution to try and help make their dream come true.

Speaking of Kickstarter campaigns, I will be interviewing a Kickstarter success story this weekend and hope to get the article posted next week before the holidays so check back if you’d like to learn more about one business’ Kickstarter lessons learned.

*I know that this time of year there are many many charitable organizations that help people and animals in need that are asking for holiday donations and I in no way recommending that you contribute to a Kickstarter campaign over making a charitable donation.  However, if after any charitable donations you have a little money left over that you’d like to throw out there in the name of good ‘business’ will, a Kickstarter food business project might be just the way to go.
