What Does The Future Of Food Prices Look Like?
If you don’t already know, corn commodity prices are reaching levels they haven’t seen in over a year due in part to the worst drought in 25 years that’s now wrapped its tight grip around 2/3 of the US. Why does that matter to you? It may mean higher food prices all the way around though the jury is still out on that right now. Why does this always happen at the same time yearly ? Its like the home heating oil prices always go up in the winter hmmmmmm
I think this year it’s really tied to the poor corn harvest in the US due to the drought. That being said, I remember a culinary instructor telling me to stock up on butter in November and freeze it b/c butter prices always spike around the holidays as everyone gears up their holiday baking and supermarkets know it!
